Pens vs Isles - Team Edition

Yeah, crap. The Pens lost my "Last night in Pittsburgh" game AGAIN. They really like doing this to me, they really do ...
And what a stupid loss it was. They played pretty well against the always very fast and nasty Isles, but could not monetize the power play again and lacked some focus on defense especially when Scuderi was not on the ice (a situation we sadly will need to get used to again with Scuds out for a long time with his broken ankle.).

It was also Kris Letang's first game of the season and everybody was really happy to see him in the line up again, but we'll come to that later in a separate post.

BUT .. although it was a loss I had SO MUCH FUN, because I had my seat down at the ice. Section 120 Row B (A is  the one at the glass) - double defense, corner seats - the best in the house. I LOVE to sit down there. I know that a bit more up the game can be overlooked better, but the feeling to have  them so close, to have them crushing the boards right in front of you, to be almost able to touch them, to hear them yelling over to each other, to see them exchanging small gestures or quick talks and the chance  to experience the speed and physical impact so directly is .... freaking A M A Z I N G

The best moment of the night was for sure when Sid had his breakaway goal.  Good lord  ... he was so incredibly fast when he flew down the ice towards me (well the goal, but I was right there) and you could phsysically feel that nothing and nobody would stop that man in this particular moment. That is when you witness the best hockey player in the world do his thing. It was breathtaking.

The most entertaining moment was maybe the Engelland goal because nobody could believe it really happened and Engo's face full of disbelief when he skated over to the bench for the congratulations was priceless. Sadly the Pens were as surprised and distracted as we were and we all missed the rush of the Islanders in response and quickly it was a tied and then lost game. Sad but oh well ... that's how life goes sometimes.

OF COURSE I took many many pics from my fabulous seats and here are the best of them.

For the last minute of the game the Pens pulled Zatkoff. I could not watch, Iceburgh could not watch ... and it did not help. Sadly.
