It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood - The Strip District

One of the reason why we focus our work beyond this blog on the Strip Distric is that this neighborhood never stops to fascinate and surprise us.

On Thursday morning we drove down Penn Ave like we did hundreds of time before, but this time the sun was almost at the zenith and offered a lightning situation we did not yet see so often because that was a bit of unsual time of the day for us to pass that crossroad.

Gabi and I randomly looked at the same moment down one of the side roads and both burst into a WOW - there was a steel construction that caught our eye like it did never before. The contrast of the gritty industrial structure, the insanely blue sky and bright sunshine causing hard shadows was breathtaking.

So we turned around, parked and embarked in a spontaneous Strip District photo session.

After our picture stop we had lunch at The Thin Man Sandwich Shop (Smallman / 21st Street) and it was absolutely DELICIOUS! What a great new addition to the Strip District!

The RAGE grafitti I found at our newly discovered photo location there along with these:
